This year, in Mikie’s very first solo exhibition, Z.A.P offers a completely new onslaught of total zombie madness. Over 30 intricate custom Playmobil playsets will be available, as well as a fun assortment of affordable single zombies, a GIANT 3ft x 3ft diorama, and some MEGA surprises!
About Mikie Graham:
Mikie Graham’s love affair with toys stared at an early age. As a child he collected and played with the traditional 80’s mass market action figures, but as he grew older he began to realize the unique beauty that these “toys” possessed. In high school Mikie could be found skipping class to hang out in the aisles of ToysR’us waiting for the new shipment of figures to come bursting out of their cardboard coffins. In 2002 on an extended visit to Japan Mikie discovered the world of designer vinyl and art toys. Since then he has become an avid collector and customizer of unique 3d art figures …. as well as the mass produced action figures of his childhood.
Please join us and Mikie for the opening on Saturday, November 24th, from 7-10pm at Toy Art Gallery’s showroom located at 7571 Melrose Ave. Hollywood CA 90046.
“Z.A.P- the Return of the Zombie Art Project” runs through December 8th.1

Toy Art Gallery is proud to present “Vivid Lucid Dream” The Sofubi of Mutant Vinyl Hardcore, Frenzy Bros., and Siccaluna! “Vivid Lucid Dream” offers collectors the chance to see the work and obtain one-of-a-kind vinyl figures from three of the biggest names in the modern soft vinyl toy scene. Distinguished for it’s craftsmanship and quality, Japanese soft vinyl, or “sofubi”, is the medium of choice for Richard Montanari and his Japanese toy brethren Siccaluna and Frenzy Bros.
Richard Montari of Mutant Vinyl Hardcore, or “LASH”, on his work:
“Mutant Vinyl Hardcore Toy Company, if summed up, is an eclectic mix heavily influenced by memories of Saturday morning cartoons, midnight horror movies, Japanese cinema and heavy metal fantasy art.
My goal is to bring the viewer back to a simpler time in life when you would see an object, a toy, and connect on an instinctual level. I want you to like what I present to you but are not really sure why. I want you to see the colors, shapes and sizes and just like it because it captures something in your childhood’s soul that is still there and just wants to come out to play.”
Similarly, Siccaluna is inspired by old-school Japanese “patchi” (bootleg) soft vinyl toys and nostalgic characters such as Tetsujin 28 (of which they also license and produce modern interpretations). The Frenzy Bros. are of a similar generation to Rich, being heavily influenced by early 80’s American toy brands such as Masters of the Universe.
Please join us on Saturday, October 27th from 7-10pm at Toy Art Gallery’s showroom located at 7571 Melrose Ave. Hollywood CA 90046. Refreshments will be provided.
‘Vivid Lucid Dream’ runs through November 17th.

Toy Art Gallery is proud to present “This Temporary Moment” New Works by Brian Flynn. As the owner of Super7 and Hybrid Designs Bryan Flynn has long been a force in both graphic and toy design, combining his love of 60’s modernist illustration and vintage japanese toys into a style that is all his own. For his first solo exhibition at TAG Brian will debut a number of new projects as well as roll out the return of old favorites with a massive Super7 retrospective exhibition.
Brian Flynn –
My art serves two functions both thematic and functional. The first is to document the moments of our spirits as they transition from one plane of existence to the next. The keys, locks and gateways of the planes of being are navigated by a wide variety of otherworldly entities, transporting all lost souls to Ghostland. Secondly, and most importantly, is to imbibe the viewer and/or recipient with a fixed sense of place and time —in short, to create a memory. These memories are eternal and carry on long after the experience of interaction is over. Whether through painting, prints, toys, sculptures or photographs, the end result is to make an experience the viewer will remember, allowing our lives to live on together, and the spirit to not be forgotten.
New works to be featured include massive fiberglass pieces, original hand-painted resin toys, custom painted vinyl toys, silkscreened print editions, and more!
Release Date: Wed. Sept. 26th at 12PM PST
