Nathan Hamill’s Bellicose Bunny for Sale!
If you missed Nathan Hamill’s Bellicose Bunny signing and release last night, don’t panic! Nathan was gracious enough to sign and sketch a very limited number of Bunny’s for us which will be available to in-store customers this weekend and online next week. Thanks again to everyone who made it out, attendance was great and we’re certainly going to have more events like this in the future!
Nathan Hamill’s Bellicose Bunny Release and Signing this Friday!
The Bunny takes flight! Come out to Toy Art Gallery’s new showroom on Melrose Ave. and celebrate the release of the new vinyl by 3DRetro x Nathan Hamill, Bellicose Bunny!
It is limited to 200 pieces and will retail for $50. Bellicose prints and T-shirts will be for sale as well.
DJ Mike Turski will be spinning a fine blend of space-themed garage, punk and psychobilly for your listening pleasure.
For those of you, who haven’t heard the tale, the story is as such…
“Forged by the stars and space alike, and stuff and things, the Bellicose Bunny was enlisted by top minds throughout the universe to seek out, thwart and destroy all known evil. Equipped with a pair of space goggles and the Sword of Ulyssia, he mounted his Daucus: Class 8 Rocket and embarked on his quest. Now he’s reached this galaxy and needs our help in his noble mission. Hear his cry for peace: ‘Starbunny Fields Forever!”
The Bellicose Bunny Launch Party and Signing will be held on Friday, September 30th from 7-11 PM at TAG’s new showroom located at 7571 Melrose Ave. See you there!
“Brain Evolution” and TAG Opening Night Pictures!
We just wanted to take a minute and thank EVERYONE who came out to the “Brain Evolution” and Toy Art Gallery Grand Opening last Friday night! We had an insane week setting up the new space and it was really satisfying seeing it finished and watching people enjoy themselves.
Keep an eye on the store this weekend as we finish adding “Brain Evolution” customs and a huge smorgasbord of new products and exclusives, including a few very hot vinyl figures that managed to slip through the cracks.

“Brain Evolution” and TAG Grand Opening Tonight!
The day is finally here! Emilio Garcia’s “Brain Evolution” and Toy Art Gallery’s new location Grand Opening is tonight, starting at 7PM! There will be goodie bags for the first 25 people in line along with music, food, drinks, and most importantly, an awesome time hanging out with artists and fellow collectors!
Emilio will also be having a signing at the store tomorrow afternoon starting at 2PM, so bring your Mini and DIY Jumping Brains and have another look at show.
We will be handing out tickets starting at 12pm this afternoon for buying TAG exclusives and Jumping Brain customs. This will take the place of the line so you don’t have to be standing outside all day (but you must come back at 7PM to make your purchases)! We will be limiting all exclusives to one per customer per style, no exceptions. There is no limit on Jumping Brain customs. Remaining customs and exclusives will be on sale in our webstore starting Saturday.
Grand Opening Exclusives Preview: Paul Kaiju and PicoPico
We’ve got some awesome exclusives lined up for our Grand Opening this Friday night. For our first sneak peak we’ve got Paul Kaiju with a fantastic Boss Carrion edition. The Boss features pink, gold and green (and then some) spray on a black vinyl base.
For our second peal we have lots of goodies from PicoPico, including a handful of handpainted Beckos and Tsunogon one-offs (we’ll have some non-exclusive PicoPico vinyls as well).
These will all be available first come first serve on Friday, so get there early and grab a ticket to secure your place in line! Stay tuned to the blog for more sneak peaks all this week.
Arkiv’s “Escapist” opens Friday at TAG
Toy Art Gallery is proud to present “Escapist”, a solo show from renowned Indonesian artist Arkiv Vilmansa. The exhibit will feature new painted works, sculptures, limited edition prints and a special preview release and signing of the new figure “The Sumo”.
“Over the past several years, artist Arkiv Vilmansa’s iconic character ‘Arkiv Instant’ has made the artist a household name within the lowbrow art and toy culture scene. Arkiv looks to develop his signature image, while debuting new characters and continuing to explore his unique style of combining the surreal and theatrical with playful and whimsical caricature.”
Opening reception is Friday, Aug 5th 2011 from 7pm-11pm. Arkiv will be in attendance with a live painting session. A signing session will follow on Saturday, Aug. 6th starting at 2pm.
The Show Preview will be available on Thursday, Aug. 4th. The exhibit runs from Aug. 5th to Aug. 26th, 2011.
