Chibi, which in Japanese slang means "little or mini. The inspiration for Moonflower came from Yoskay's fascination with the moon, its ethereal presence, and his adoration for flowers' delicate forms. 2018 saw the creation of the Moonflower's first artwork. Toba, Japan, is where Yoskay was born and reared before emigrating to the United States when he was 15 years old. He is a self-taught illustrator and extended his artistic inclinations after falling in love with West Coast urban culture. Yoskay Yamamoto found a method to incorporate both of his cultural roots into his art and nostalgically combines pop icons from his new Western home with traditional and legendary Japanese motifs, blending his Asian ancestry with metropolitan pop art.
