Marumon Brown and Blue BARON Sofubi Kaiju by Marusan

9" tall sofubi by the legendary Marusan. Brown Soft vinyl with Blue, Black and Red sprays. Made in Japan. Japanese model and toy manufacturer Marusan. It is renowned for being the first Japanese plastic model maker and for marketing sofubi toys featuring monster characters, or kaiju, in the 1960s. Taitō, Tokyo served as the location of its headquarters. Their company started out as a wholesaler, but later they started designing and manufacturing their own toys, like tin toys and celluloid dolls. They debuted "Ultra-kaiju" soft vinyl figures in 1966. These durable toys were a huge commercial success and won over kids' hearts. Marusan continues today with varied releases not only in Japan but internationally as they travel to toy shows around the world!
