It is renowned for being the first Japanese plastic model maker and for marketing PVC toys featuring monster characters, or kaiju, in the 1960s. Taitō, Tokyo served as the location of its headquarters. Their company started out as a wholesaler, but later they started designing and manufacturing their own toys, like tin toys and celluloid dolls. They debuted "Ultra-kaiju" PVC figures in 1966. These durable toys were a huge commercial success and won over kids' hearts.
