Born and reared in Anaheim, California in the late 1970s, Milne was intrigued by and had a significant impact on her youthful imagination thanks to the classic cartoons, toys, candies, Disneyland, and happy family holidays that surrounded her. Underneath its lovely candy-coated exterior, Brandi's work talks of love, loss, suffering, and heartbreak. She is self-taught and intensely driven. Brandi develops a singular surreal universe that is unmistakably hers by using ideas as language from her child's head. Brandi's work has received praise and support from fine art museums and galleries both domestically and abroad, and it has been highlighted in print and online magazines like Hi Fructose & Bizarre Magazine. In 2008, she released So Good For Little Bunnies, her debut book, and in 2014, Frohlich, her follow-up.
