The Adam & Ron Show Signed - Adam Neate and Ron English
The Adam & Ron Show by Adam Neate and Ron English. Published by Elm Lesters in 2008, this 72 page book covers the exhibition of the same name. Signed by both artists and limited to 1000 copies. British artist Adam Neate is well-known for experimenting with perspective in his three-dimensional collages. In the beginning of his career, Neate left his paintings and assemblages on the streets; today, he exhibits the works in galleries while continuing to work within a distinctively contemporary Cubist aesthetic he calls "dimensionalism." His work combines conventional mark-making and construction techniques with materials and approaches from street art. Neate, who was born in Colchester, England, in 1977, studied graphic design while also learning how to paint and sculpt on his own. His pieces were first scattered about Ipswich before moving to London in the late 1990s. Neate is presently based between Brighton, England, and Sao Paulo, Brazil, where he works. American modern artist Ron English is best recognized for fusing pop culture brand iconography. English uses the concept of "culture jamming," or changing how the public perceives corporate intentions by altering popular brands and symbols. He frequently combines two or more well-known icons in startling juxtapositions to produce bizarre Pop Art collages. English, who was born in 1959 in Chicago, Illinois, studied at the University of North Texas in Denton and earned an MFA from the University of Texas in Austin. He has been involved in street art projects since the early 1980s. MC Supersized, an obese parody of the iconic McDonald's clown that was produced for the 2004 documentary Super Size Me, is among the artist's most well-known works.
